Hall of Fame - Brian Doherty

Springtowncamp.com would like to welcome Brian Doherty to the Springtown Camp Hall of Fame. Brian was nominated by his family and they sent us a lovely message to remember Brian by:

"I would like to nominate Brian Doherty for the hall of fame. He was known as the quiet man, son of Bernard and Elizabeth Doherty, brother of Jean Betty, Celine, Patricia, Helen, Mary, Angela, Peggy, Hughy, Tony and Billy who all lived in Springtown camp. Brian used to go to the pictures of all the lads, they all put there pocket money together and he was nominated to pay to go in and when he was in the pictures he would open the fire exit door to let the rest of them in for free. They used to play bingo in one of the huts in Springtown camp and Brian would climb on the roof and blocked the chimney with a sod causing the hut to be smoked out so everyone in bingo fled from the hut due to the smoke. I nominate Brian Doherty, my father, who passed away on the 3rd of October 2017, for Springtown Hall of fame. I think that it would nice memorial for Brian and the Springtown Camp's 50th anniversary. From his son Gerard and all the Doherty family."
